Remy watched as Arden tried unsuccessfully to break the chains. Griffen jumped down the hole with bolt cutter and other tools, and soon she was free and in Arden’s arms again.
Arden looked like shit, but right now she knew she didn’t look very good either. She took deep breaths in of him. He smelt amazing, like freshly cut grass and sea spray. Remy felt safe, and she knew at that moment she wouldn’t ever leave him again.
Remy helped the other women and was happy when they were out of the ground. As soon as she saw Eve she ran to her and hugged her. Arden didn’t leave her side and snarled and growled at anyone who tried to touch her or take her away.
The werewolves saved everyone, but instead of fighting and killing the demons they left. Remy could tell they didn’t want to, but they had too many people to protect and not enough shifters.
The ride home was quiet, and Remy just hoped that everyone forgave her for running.

Lucifer ripped the smaller demon’s head off and roared his displeasure at the cowering subjects in front of him. The headless body convulsed before him.
“You let them all get away. Those animals took everyone.” He pulled the heart out of the demon closest to him. “I want them back. I wanted that new alpha wolf dead. Up the numbers in the human world and take every supernatural you can.” He stood as hundreds of demons stared up at him. “I want more hideouts on earth. I want the shifters wiped out.” He narrowed his eyes on each of his high demons. “I have a plan, but we need a zombie army. Find out where the werewolves live and watch them. I want pregnant mates. I want female werewolves. The women we have are only producing one child, I need more.”
He walked toward the exit, he couldn’t look at the pathetic bunch anymore. They had cost him a huge setback by losing all those paranormals and the two female shifters.
Stopping at the door, he turned and glared at the still cowering bunch. “I want you to leave Pet alone. Let her think she is free. Then when we have what I have asked you to get I want Pet back. Do anything to get her. Do not kill her. That would be too nice.”
With that, he walked out of the room and opened a gate to one of his many dimensions. He needed to relax, he needed to kill.
Chapter 1
Arden held Remy tight, and she knew he wasn’t going to let her go in case she ran again. Remy knew she’d done wrong, and she shouldn’t have run. But Arden didn’t believe her when she said she wouldn’t do it again. It didn’t help that Derek and Dickson arrived, telling Arden and everyone that they’d found her and made her come home. Remy swore if she ever saw those two again she would give them a good kick in the balls.
Arden looked like shit. Remy remembered a kind, clean, handsome man, but now Arden was dirty, covered in hair, and all hard. His eyes scared her—they’d lost their soft brown color and now looked almost all black. Remy knew she’d done this to him. Her heart cracked, and she told herself for the millionth time what a selfish fool she’d been.
They sat in Kane’s family room, waiting for news on Faith, who had gone into early labor. Faith needed her and she needed to get to her, but Arden wouldn’t let her go. The more she moved the tighter his hold got.
“Let me go. I have to check on Faith.”
Arden’s answering growl sent a cold shiver down her spine. He sounded like a feral dog. He shook beneath her, and she whimpered at the rage that radiated off him. They sat for another hour on the lounge while Remy struggled to get free of him so she could go to Faith.
Finally a ragged, worried looking Kane made an appearance. “I’ve stopped the baby from coming for now. She’s on bed rest for the remainder of this pregnancy.” Kane came forward and glared at Remy. “Get her out of my house, Arden. She’s not welcome anymore.”
Remy stilled her struggles against Arden, fearful of what her actions had caused and what she would miss because of her selfish ways. Remy tried not to flinch as she looked at Kane. “You can’t kick me out. I’m Faith’s friend.” She wanted to say best friend, but after what had happened and what Faith had said to her in the biker bar, she wasn’t sure anymore.
A grim smile spread over Kane’s face. “Not anymore. Faith said she didn’t want to see you and I needed to tell you to leave our house.”
Remy shrank back in Arden’s arms, not wanting to believe what Kane said was true. Sucking in a shaky breath, she whispered, “Faith wouldn’t say that.”
Kane didn’t get the chance to reply as a frail, pasty white looking Faith hobbled out and muttered in a deathly steel voice, “Get out. Get out now.”
A deep, gut wrenching sob escaped Remy as she stood. Arden let her go, standing to follow close behind her as she started toward Faith. Surely she didn’t mean what she’d said.
Kane’s roar stopped her in her tracks. Remy had never been scared of Kane before, but right now she was terrified. Kane picked Faith up and yelled, “Get her out now.”
Arden picked her up and walked to the door. She didn’t fight him this time—she had no fight left in her. As he closed Kane’s front door she made a promise to herself and the world, muttering, “I’m not giving up. I’m sorry, and I’m going to make everyone forgive me if it’s the last thing I do, even you.”
Arden let out a howl, and Remy hoped she wasn’t too late to save him, or make everything up to her friends.

The pain and shame coming off his mate was ripping out what little Arden had left of his heart. His mate was hurting, and as much as he wanted to comfort her and get angry at everyone for treating Remy the way they had, he couldn’t do anything because he knew she’d done wrong. She’d put herself and the whole town in danger. If they hadn’t rescued her, she would have valuable information for the enemy.
Arden let one hand he had wrapped around her drop so he could open his front door. He walked inside, kicking the door shut behind him before placing Remy gently on the ground. She gazed around his hall, one of the only places not littered with garbage and covered in werewolf territory marks. He homed in on her lips as she nibbled on her bottom one.
“I’m, ah, guessing this is your house?” Remy backed up as she spoke. The whole time her eyes barely left his. He stalked her to the family room with its big dining room table, TV, and sofas. “I’m taking your silence as a yes.” Her gaze darted her around the room, and her eyes grew wide. Arden knew what she saw—garbage, broken ornaments, and shit everywhere, and weapons strewed across every surface.
“Grr, look at me,” he grunted.
Remy blinked her pretty blue eyes and ran her fingers through her shoulder-length hair. Her hair had grown. It had been a lot shorter when he mate marked her almost three months ago. Arden looked her over, noticing she’d lost weight. She still had large breasts and good hips, but everything else had thinned, and she looked even more pixie-like. He wondered if he was the only one who wanted her to be his pixie. Had she been with someone else while she’d been away?
“Mine,” he snarled, taking a step toward her only for her to move so the table stood between them.
Arden closed his eyes as his wolf started taking over. The hairs on his body grew and his muscles stretched. He knew in the back of his mind he was on the very edge of going feral. Arden knew the cure though, and she stood in front of him, studying him. He could feel her eyes boring into him. Opening his eyes, he stalked toward her. He needed her, and Remy needed to learn she was his and no one but him touched her.
Glaring at her, he continued to move toward her. “Why? Why did you leave? You have a couple of seconds to tell me before I let my wolf take over and we show you who you belong to and why you will never leave again,” he snarled, and took another step toward Remy.
Arden felt his wolf pause close to the surface as Remy looked up at him and took a step toward him. “I promise I’m yours. I haven’t been with anyone. I didn’t leave just because of you. Ha! I almost stayed when I met you.”
Her statement surprised him, and the wolf in him retreated a little more. Ho
pe bloomed in his broken heart. Could Remy fix him?

Remy rubbed the mate mark Arden had given her so many months ago. “I’m sorry I ran. I’m ready to be your mate now.” Before the last word even left her lips Arden was hovering over her.
She gazed into big brown eyes that glowed bright. His midnight black hair didn’t look like it had been cut in months and sat in a shaggy mess. His body was all muscled, thick and toned, and she could see the sweat glinting off his torso as he looked to be fighting the change.
Right now Arden looked more wolf than man. He stalked her and she backed up, hitting a vanity table. He gathered her to him and captured her mouth, kissing her deeply before he pulled away.
“Mine,” he growled against her lips before he ripped her clothes off, desperate to get to her bare skin.
Remy knew once she let Arden do this there was no going back. Sex changed everything. Not that she ever could run again. As it was, it was going to take a lot to earn everyone’s trust again. She’d promised herself when she returned she would do the mate thing with Arden. He’d saved her life and put up with her shit for a good couple of days before she ran.
Aden spun her around so her hands rested on the table. He spread her legs, and she gasped as she felt him kneel between her thighs and spread her pussy lips before he licked her. She moved her hands to get a better grip on the table as his tongue speared her core. It was pure torture. Her body started to burn. The tingling sensations from her pussy shoot through her, building her tension. She’d never experienced anything like this before. Usually when it came to sex she was the dominate one, the one who had to sort herself out to get her release.
Arden feasted on her, and when he sucked her clit in and nibbled lightly on in, she knew she wouldn’t last long.
“Oh, fuck.” She screamed as he added two fingers to her now soaking pussy and pumped them in and out.
Arden growled and nuzzled deeper as he ate her out. The vibration of the growl shot tingles straight through her, and they were her undoing. She came hard, pushing back on his fingers as they pumped faster, and let herself shatter, gripping the table as best she could for support.
Remy didn’t even have time to recover and bask in her bliss before Arden crawled up her body, his teeth scraping over her skin and sending tingling pleasure coursing through her. She felt the tip of his cock rub back and forth over her entrance.
He kissed her shoulder and sucked on her neck before he whispered, “I’m going to fuck you so hard, my little pixie, that I promise you’ll never leave me again, or ever forget whose you are.”
Arden’s whispered words had her whole body quivering in anticipation. The tip of his cock rubbed in and out of her entrance, teasing her, and had her pushing back, wanting him to give her his promise. “Show me. Show me I’m yours. Now.” She panted out every word, eager for him to show her.
He growled and pushed forward. Remy let her head fall down as he stuffed her full. Arden was the biggest she’d ever had. His cock was long and thick. The thickness was what had her moaning and concentrating on her breathing. He stretched her, and the burning only added to her already sensitive body. She closed her eyes and basked in his onslaught as his hands gripped her waist and held her arse up as he thrust into her. His teeth scraped up and down her neck, stopping to nip and suck just under her ear. Arden must have known that place was connected to her pleasure spots as it shot tingles of ecstasy right through her.
“Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit.” She yelled as the tension in her body built to a fevered pitch. She was so close to coming.
Arden pounded into her in a mindless frenzy, and nothing had ever felt so good. Remy felt like a bomb ready to explode, then all of a sudden, Arden stopped. What the fuck?
“I’m not moving until you tell me you’re mine. That you belong to Arden Wolfen.” His voice sounded like sandpaper grating wood.
He had to be kidding. She felt his dick flex inside her like he was reminding her he had the control. Experimentally, she wiggled her hips, but his grip tightened on them until she gave up. “You’ll move again if I say it?”
He nibbled on her earlobe, and she shivered. “I’ll know if you mean it. If you lie, we will stop right now.”
Shocked at his words, she turned her head as best she could. “I came back for good. I promise no more running.”
Arden snarled, and this time he nipped at her shoulder. “That’s good, but that’s not what I asked you. I want you to tell me, tell my wolf, who you belong to.” He pumped his cock in and out just enough to get her hot again before stopping and growling, “Say it. Tell me you know I’m your mate. That you’re my mate.”
Her body was so close to exploding into what she knew would be the best orgasm she’d ever had. Remy knew she was Arden’s mate, she could feel it right to her bones. She didn’t love him, but he wasn’t asking her for a confession of love. He just wanted her to tell him that she knew he was her mate. She could tell him that, because it was true. No matter how hard she’d run from everything, she’d known she belonged to Arden. She just hoped that the love would come eventually.
“Okay. I’ll say it. Just move now.”
Arden grunted and started driving into her core with quick, sure strokes. “Say it,” he grit out.
“I’m Arden’s. I’m your mate. Now fuck me.” She moaned as he drove deep and ground himself against her.
“Again,” he muttered as his thrusts become harder, deeper, and faster.
“I’m yours. All yours, Arden.”
“Tell me you’ll never leave me again. Promise me.” His cock came all the way out, and she groaned at its loss.
“I promise I’ll never leave you again. I’m yours, Arden.”
He slammed back into her, and the force had her hitting the table. She held onto it with a deathly grip as he grunted.
When she was on the edge ready to explode, Arden roared, “Mine,” before he bit down on her mate mark.
“Arden,” she yelled at the top of her lungs as her whole body convulsed and tightened.
The base of Arden’s cock grew impossibly bigger, locking them together. She spasmed around him, falling onto the table, her body stated and exhausted from the best orgasm she’d ever had.
Her body felt like spaghetti, and she mumbled, “I can’t stay like this. My legs are about to collapse.”
Arden held her to him, gripping her waist. She groaned as she felt the knot in the base of his cock that she’d been told about by her friends. Crap, they weren’t wrong about how fucking amazing it felt. His cock hadn’t gone down, it kept Arden tightly locked in her.
Remy was so much short than him that as he walked her feet didn’t even touch the ground. His cock, however, had mini-orgasms going off that was turning her whole body, including her sexed-out brain, to mush. He carefully laid them on a bed, which was an amazing feat as they were still joined and her body continued quivering. God, if she’d known it would be like this with a werewolf she never would have left.
She leaned her head back against him as Arden held her tight around the waist. He kissed her shoulder and up her neck. “You can’t get away. I have you locked to me for a good half an hour. I think it’ll give me enough time to get some answers.”
“Mehhh, I can’t talk. You’ve turned me into a puddle of goo.”
He took a deep breath and placed feather-light kisses across any skin he could get to. “All the better for you to tell me and for me to get the truth.” He pressed harder and sucked on her neck. “Why did you leave?”
Remy sighed. She knew she had to tell him eventually, so why not do it now? “I was scared. I’m not as strong as Faith. I don’t have the support she does. I freaked out when I almost died. Surely you have to give me a break. I wake up from almost dying to see you hovering over my bed. Then I felt bite marks and a tingling in my shoulder. I suddenly go from being dead to recovering really fast. I find out that Bengie is devastated about something, but no one will tell me what. Yo
u start hanging around and won’t leave my side. No one will tell me anything. I knew you had mated me. You started to become all bossy and didn’t tell me why. Then when I’m better you tell me I have to move in with you. I wasn’t ready. I wasn’t ready for any of it. The attack at the bowling alley was like a nightmare. I still have them about that night. It was the first time in my life that my whole life flashed in front of my eyes. I’m not like Faith, or even Sara. I never had a family. My parents dumped me at my grandmother’s house and took off. I love my grandmother to bits, but she was a tough old bird. Do you know Sara and Faith gave me the first cuddle I can remember?”
His hands stroked up and down her stomach in a soothing motion. “You didn’t say any of this. I came to see you and you were gone. They checked your house and nothing was missing, even your car was there. We looked for you, and even when you called from a pay phone you didn’t say any of what you just told me.”
She groaned. Instead of feeling better, she felt worse. “I told Faith I wasn’t ready. I’m not ready to get knocked up, and that’s what seems to happen when you werewolves are around.”
Arden growled and nipped at her shoulder. “You don’t want my children?”
Remy wished she could turn around and look into his face when she said this. “No...I mean yes. Crap, I mean I’m not ready to be a mother. I can barely look after myself. I’m not ready to look after a little mini me or you. I’m not saying I don’t want children, I’m just saying not straight away like everyone else. I need to be prepared first. I need to be comfortable with us. I made a promise to myself years ago that I would never bring a child into this world without someone I loved at my side. I want it to be a joint decision. After I was there to see what happened when Kane mated Faith, and then I found out about Kirby and Sara being mates and pregnant, not to mention Sandra and anyone else who mated a werewolf, that added to freaking me out. It’s another reason why I ran. You have to forgive me. Please.”
